Dr Shruti Gaur is a gynaecologist who believes in the importance of providing excellent care to women by informing them of different treatment options available. This can include conservative management, surgery and / or medication as every woman is unique in their needs and issues, and Shruti ensures the most appropriate care is provided.
Shruti was born in India where she completed her medical degree at the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences. She came to Australia in 2017 and became a Fellow of RANZCOG (Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology) in August 2022.
During her time in Australia as a Registrar, Shruti has worked at Wollongong Hospital (2017), Fiona Stanley Hospital (2017-2018), Northwest Regional Hospital (2018-2019), then finally at Goulburn Valley Health (2019-2022). She became a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in November 2022 where she continues to work at Goulburn Valley Health part-time.
Shruti has set up private practice at the Shepparton Women’s Health Centre, where she will see both private and public patients. Gynaecological procedures are performed at the Kyabram District Health Service and Goulburn Valley Health for all public and private patients, and at the Shepparton Private Hospital for privately insured patients.
Procedures performed include:
• prolapse surgery and repair
• hysterectomy
• hysteroscopy
• curette
• laparoscopy, diagnostic and treatment of endometriosis
• advanced laparoscopy, ovarian cysts, oophorectomy, ectopic pregnancy
• laparoscopic assisted vaginal hysterectomy
• treatment of cervical abnormalities, including LLETZ and cone biopsy
• endometrial ablation
• insertion/removal of Mirena IUD
In her private clinic at the Shepparton Women’s Health Centre, she covers all gynaecological problems as well as minor procedures such as:
• colposcopy/vulvoscopy and biopsy
• insertion/removal of Mirena and Copper IUD
• taking of Cervical Screening Tests (CST)
• removal of polyps
• endometrial sampling
• pessary treatment for prolapse
• ultrasound scanning
