Dr Herath Wataliyadda completed her medical education and early years of training in Sri Lanka. She was further trained in the UK, getting hands on experience in neonatology and general paediatrics. Since settling in Australia, she has served in several hospitals in Victoria, Northern Territory and Queensland, experiencing many aspects of paediatrics. Dr. Wataliyadda has nearly two decades of experience in Paediatrics and holds Fellowships from the UK and Australia.
Dr. Wataliyadda has a holistic approach towards her patients and families, and firmly believes in multi-disciplinary team based, tailor made approach in treating many of her patients. She looks after newborn babies and their problems, deals with early childhood growth and developmental issues, a wide range of paediatric medical conditions like asthma, anaemia, epilepsy, and constipation. She is passionate and competent in dealing with all childhood and adolescent behavioural issues including Autism Spectrum disorder, ADHD and Learning difficulties.
Dr Wataliyadda has been actively taking part in teaching medical students, medical and para medical colleagues.
She is flexible, approachable, easy to talk to and committed to developing a long-lasting rapport with families. In addition to English, Dr. Wataliyadda is fluent in Singhalese.
