Dr Alba Sanderson

Dr Alba Sanderson grew up in the small town of Breamlea, near Torquay, and went to school in Geelong. She then moved to Melbourne to study Medicine at Monash University, graduating in 2016 with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, with Honours. She trained in the rural stream, travelling across Victoria and the country, studying in places like Mildura, Swan Hill, Bendigo, remote Northern Territory and Perth.
After graduating, Alba returned to Geelong for internship and then moved to Warrnambool Hospital for 2 years. While in Warrnambool Alba practiced as an Obstetrics and Gynaecology registrar and is currently completing her Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics. She is keen to continue honing her skills in Women’s Health, enjoys working with children, and continue to provide obstetric shared care.
Alba has worked in Geelong as a GP for the last 3 years and is relocating with her husband and baby daughter to be close to family.
Alba is a fully qualified GP and has a special interest in women’s health, sexual health, family planning, LGBTQI+ medicine, and children’s health. She is a trained IUD inserter.
