This should occur in a collegial and collaborative manner in a positive work environment where everyone is respected and respectful and striving to better ourselves by teaching and sharing information”.

This general practice is AGPAL accredited – what does this mean?
Being accredited means that our general practice is committed to a comprehensive program which involves:
• Engaging our whole practice team to review our practice’s systems and processes
• Opening our practice doors to allow a team of independent surveyors to assess how our practice operates
• Assessment of our practice, and achievement of the nationally recognised Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for general practices, that focus on health care quality and patient safety.
As a member of the community you may be surprised to learn that general practice accreditation is a voluntary process – which means not all practices undergo an independent on-site assessment on a regular basis.
Achievement of AGPAL accreditation reassures you that the doctors and practice team are committed to providing you with high quality health care in a safe environment.
Next time you visit our practice be sure to look out for the AGPAL Accredited General Practice Symbol (above) or our accreditation certificate. Our practice team is proud of this achievement and as part of this process we continuously strive to make quality improvements to better your patient experience.
Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) is a not-for-profit independent provider of general practice accreditation in Australia. To learn more about the benefits of accreditation to you, your family and the Australian community click here or visit www.agpal.com.au.
OUR HISTORY
Dr Margreet Stegeman, the founder of the Shepparton Women’s Health Centre, wanted to create a local centre that offered a more holistic approach to care for women and their families under one roof.
She visited the Jean Hailes Foundation in Melbourne and was impressed with the way they created this kind of environment successfully and the strength of its educational resources.
When the beautiful UNA House building became available for sale, she jumped at the opportunity to purchase it, with the goal of establishing it as a women’s health centre.
James Seymour, local architect, developed an innovative design to keep the building’s heritage and charm while creating a modern, fit-for-purpose health facility.
The Shepparton Women’s Health Centre logo was designed by Sam Muller, based on a sculpture by Ralph Muller, symbolising a seed blooming to produce a flower.
The centre now boasts an outstanding group of health practitioners who specialise in the provision of health care for local women and families.
We also provide telehealth services with specialists not local to the area such as endocrinologists.
Opening Hours | Mon to Fri 9am – 5pm.
Closed weekends and public holidays.
