Women’s Health Centre
Welcome to the Shepparton Women’s Health Centre, where a range of expert health practitioners provide preventative and curative health care treatment. We look at health from a woman’s perspective. From this point of view, we are happy to deliver a service for women, men and children.
ALL OUR PATIENTS WILL RECEIVE THE HEALTH CARE THEY NEED REGARDLESS OF THEIR VACCINATION STATUS – WE WILL GIVE YOU OPTIONS
The team at Shepparton Women’s Health Centre understands that the COVID-19 vaccination plays an important role in the protection of our patients, families, staff, and the community.
We are committed to keeping everyone safe. Therefore, as part of our screening process, we will be asking all patients and visitors about their vaccination status and to provide their COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
This information is important as it will assist us to understand the level of exposure risk for our patients and staff. It will help us to plan and respond according to our ongoing COVID-19 response.
If you are unvaccinated, or unable to provide your COVID-19 vaccination certificate, rest assured this will not impact your ability to have an appointment at our clinic. We can offer alternatives, such as telephone or video consultations, but if a face-to-face appointment is necessary, then appropriate arrangements can be made to ensure your safety and the safety of others. However, we do ask you to consider getting vaccinated for the sake of your family and you.
Thank you for your understanding and for helping us keep each other safe.

This general practice is AGPAL accredited – what does this mean?
Being accredited means that our general practice is committed to a comprehensive program which involves:
• Engaging our whole practice team to review our practice’s systems and processes
• Opening our practice doors to allow a team of independent surveyors to assess how our practice operates
• Assessment of our practice, and achievement of the nationally recognised Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for general practices, that focus on health care quality and patient safety.
As a member of the community you may be surprised to learn that general practice accreditation is a voluntary process – which means not all practices undergo an independent on-site assessment on a regular basis.
Achievement of AGPAL accreditation reassures you that our doctors and practice team are committed to providing you with high quality health care in a safe environment.
Next time you visit our practice be sure to look out for the AGPAL Accredited General Practice Symbol (above) or our accreditation certificate. Our practice team is proud of this achievement and as part of this process we continuously strive to make quality improvements to better your patient experience.
Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) is a not-for-profit independent provider of general practice accreditation in Australia. To learn more about the benefits of accreditation to you, your family and the Australian community click here or visit www.agpal.com.au.
Dr Margreet Stegeman, the founder of the Shepparton Women’s Health Centre, wanted to create a local centre that offered a more holistic approach to care for women and their families under one roof.
She visited the Jean Hailes Foundation in Melbourne and was impressed with the way they created this kind of environment successfully and the strength of its educational resources.
When the beautiful UNA House building became available for sale, she jumped at the opportunity to purchase it, with the goal of establishing it as a women’s health centre.
James Seymour, local architect, developed an innovative design to keep the building’s heritage and charm while creating a modern, fit-for-purpose health facility.
The Shepparton Women’s Health Centre logo was designed by Sam Muller, based on a sculpture by Ralph Muller, symbolising a seed blooming to produce a flower.
The centre now boasts an outstanding group of health practitioners who specialise in the provision of health care for local women and families.
We also provide telehealth services with specialists not local to the area such as endocrinologists.
Opening Hours | Mon to Fri 9am – 5pm.
Closed weekends and public holidays.
